Hello guys and welcome back. Today it’s really really hot. So I’m at my university because there’s an air-conditioning there so it’s much better than at home. Today I want to teach you all the different ways to greet someone in Italian.
大家好，欢迎回来。今天真的很热，所以我现在在学校，因为学校里有空调，比在家好多了。今天我将教大家意大利语中不同的打招呼方式。

Good morning when you wake up. You meet your family and you have your breakfast. You say “Buongiorno” that’s the most familiar Italian word in the world I think. And you can take “Buongiorno” pretty much for the morning until 12 a.m.
早晨起床之后，你会见到你的家人，和他们一起吃早餐。然后你说“早安”，我想这大概是全世界最流行的一句意大利语了吧。在中午12点之前，你都可以说“Buongiorno”。

From 1 p.m. until let’s say 6 p.m., you say “Buon pomeriggio”.
下午1点到6点，你说“下午好”。

Then from 6:30/7 p.m. to 8 p.m., you say “Buonasera”.
然后，晚上6点半/7点到8点，你说“晚上好”。

And from 8 till midnight, you say “Buonanotte”.
晚上8点到半夜，你说“晚安”。（一般是睡前说）

You have a common “Ciao” used with friends and family. So it’s low register, quite informal. You can say “Ciao” both when you meet someone and when you leave.
通常，你可以和家人和朋友说“Ciao”，这个词非常随意。可以用于表达“你好”和“再见”。

So you can also say for example “Buongiorno” to a person that you come across along the way. It’s normal to say it even if you don’t stop and talk with this person.
另外，buongiorno这个词可以用来和你路上迎面遇到的熟人说。一般，打个招呼不停下说话说很正常的。

Then you have another word which is pretty neutral and it’s “Salve”. You actually use it when you don’t know how to greet a person that you don’t know basically. Or actually I do so when I say “Salve”. Maybe someone I don’t know but I’ve seen a couple of times before but I’m not familiar with this person, so I just say “Salve”.
salve用于和一个你不认识的人打招呼。你见过那个人几面，但又不熟悉，你不知道应该怎么和那个人打招呼的时候，你可以说salve。

When you leave, you say “Arrivederci”. But it’s quite high register. You wouldn’t say “Arrivederci” to a friend. You would say “Ciao”.
当你要离开的时候，你说“Arrivederci”（再见），但这个词非常正式。你一般不会和朋友这么说。一般和朋友都说“Ciao”（拜拜）。

So let’s sum up.

Buongiorno 早上好 [中午12点之前]
