Andrea Bocelli出生于比萨的一个小镇，12岁因一场意外双目失明，1992年意大利摇滚歌手Zucchero需要与一个男高音合作演唱歌曲，Zucchero先请Andrea录制了试音带，当帕瓦罗蒂听了波切利录制的试音带之后，问道：“这个人是谁？我认为你们不需要我了，我不会比他唱的更好。”1996年他和歌手Sarah Brightman莎拉布莱曼合唱的一曲《Time to say goodbye》使他获得世界认可，打破了当时的唱片记录。知名歌手席琳.狄翁曾这样赞扬波切利：“ If God had a voice,it would be the one of Andrea Bocelli（如果上帝也会唱歌，那听起来一定像是波切利的歌声）”
